Master DeWilde started Taekwondo in 1993 and has been instructing at Master Kim’s Taekwondo in Rochester NY since 1998. He is a 2x World Champion (World Hanmadang 2025) 2x National Champion (AAU Nationals 2024) and the 2025 NYS Grand Champion. He also holds an international master instructor and international referee certification from the World Taekwondo Headquarters (Kukkiwon).  He currently teaches TKD at Doodlebugs Children’s Learning Centers and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and also taught Taekwondo at Monroe Community College (MCC) as adjunct professor for 16 years.  Academically, Master DeWilde graduated from St. John Fisher College with a degree in childhood and special education, and has earned his Masters in Education from State University College at Brockport.  His entire family – parents, brother, wife, and sons are all Black Belts!  His wife Andrea DeWilde is also a dojang owner in Rochester.
